Charlotte on HDNet update

According to the schedule at HDNet, the Charlotte show will only be an hour long. Pretty safe to assume we won't be seeing the Faith encore. Maybe we'll get it on DVD and Blu-Ray?

  1. Well since I don't and won't have cable I hope this will be available on DVD! HDNet says if it's not available on DVD to please consult artist's website for details. I'll just check back on COF. Thanks Craig!

  3. I wonder what the chances of the band allowing a DVD/Blu-ray release of this show?

  4. I bet you if HDNET got enough email about this, they would show an expanded version.

  5. OMG!!! One hour is only 1/3 of the whole show! If they can't broadcast it all, just release the non-edited full version on DVD!

  6. I see that they're airing the show multiple times after the 26th - maybe they'll do what Fuse did and change the set around.

Also see that Morrissey is on this Saturday and The Cult is on on the 26th!

  7. A nicely-filmed DVD would definitely be welcome and Robert doesn't have to cut his royalties this time!

  10. Marc: Check those dates. They are just repeating the same show during the night and early morning.

  11. Marc: Or are you looking at a different schedule? If so, can you tell me the additional dates?

  12. Off subject but RS is well ahead in the NME poll...well done Cure fans!

  13. Your Nihon-go yoku wakarimasu, Swifty! We had a slight shower a while ago, but mostly it was a warm sunny day today.

About your question in other thread, yes, I watched The Cure at Fuji Rock and then followed them to Hong Kong last year. It was the first time seeing them live. I felt like I was in a fascinating dream. I never forget it!

  14. Jun-chan: I'm so pleased that you could experience the thrill of the Cure live. I understand your euphoric feeling. Were you waiting years and years for them to come?

I waited over 10 years, but now I've seen them 3 times. Brisbane in2000, Royal Albert Hall in 2006 and of course again last year.
4TOUR show was easily the best. I went with my sister 48yrs and niece 15yrs (I got them hooked on the Cure). It was the best thing any of us had ever seen. Like you say, I was in a dream-like trance for days afterwards. Unbeleivable!
    And LOUD!!!!!!!!!

    ps Yoku means good? doitashimashite

  15. Craig: You are more than likely right that these are just repeats - the other two screenings are on the bottom of the schedule you linked to - both are the early the following morning.

  16. Swifty: They had 2 shows in Tokyo and 1 in Osaka in Japan way back in 1984 but I couldn't make it. I was a high school students and my parents didn't allow me to go. Robert used to say they were planning to play again in Japan but they never came back. I never thought I could see them playing live in Japan after 23 years. It had been a long long way!

p.s.: That's right. Yoku means good or well.

  17. Well that was a long time Junko. Good things come to those that wait....as you found out. Three more weeks of torture ahead and then the ecstacy of a new Cure record. I couldn't be more excited. btw your English is excellent, where did you learn?

  18. Disappointing, the Foo Fighters show they aired recently ran for a little over 2 hours, and seemed to be the complete show...

A three hour set just must blow the programmer's mind.

  19. Thank you for your compliment on my English, Swifty. I was living in San Francisco from 1980 to 1984. I came across The Cure during that time. If my memory serves me well, I first heard Let's Go to Bed either on TV or in Tower Records in Downtown. I was really attracted to the texture of his voice and the way he sang.

  20. it's just so disappointing that they wouldn't air the faith encore. of course, we don't know that they won't, but we have an inkling. so what was the point of them playing it, then, if they didn't play it elsewhere?

anah, i am pretty certain there will be footage of us screaming into the camera... commence chagrin... LOL...

  21. Robert certainly has a magnetic personality hasn't he. First time I saw them would have been 1985 Close To Me video on tv, and I thought it was excellent. For a couple of years I liked them just as a casual listener, and then around about 1989 I purchased my first Cure cd Standing on a Beach. Loved it so much that I had their whole collection within 2 years..and I was a poor student in those days. From 1990 - 1994 I only listened to Cure, nothing else interested me. I worshipped them!
Always lovely chatting to you Jun-chan, so until next time Ja-ne ;^)

  22. Oh this really sucks!!! I knew HDNet would only show one hour of this show & it's almost dead certain no FAITH ENCORE will be seen!!! Not that any other part of the show won't be worth seeing but why film the whole damn thing and only show a small part of it. We want the full 3 hours HDNet!!!

And I was just about to get HD programing on my TV just to see this show but if it's only going to be a hour, should I even bother? Would it just be better to see if anyone would be kind enough to record the show & share it on the net? If we knew for certain a DVD would be coming out of this show (the whole thing), I wouldn't even worry about seeing it on the boob tube!!!

Please Please Please let there be a DVD of this show!!! :)
