Election 08: a Play For Today?

"I just found this post on the blog of Westword (the local hipster newspaper), relating "Play for Today" to the presidential election. Apparently this is a post to their Cure-themed column called "Fascination Street." (Thanks V)

  1. Boooooo on John McCain. You tell him he's wrong, he don't really care.

Actually John McCain terrifies me now for two reasons: Sarah Palin!!

Holy good night Mary Ellen Ryan and all the saints in Ireland, the fact that Sarah Palin could be a heartbeat away from being President of the United States of America!

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!

  3. DA: But she's soooooooooooo cute and folksy! And she's a maverick from main street, gosh darn it. You'd vote for if she winked at you, I'll betcha.

MB: Thanks for that Nailin' Palin mention the other day. I had no idea!

  11. Oh that's right. Obama's a socialist now. Its hard to keep up. Does he still pal around with terrorists part-time or is he just a full-time socialist now? Help me out Governor Palin, what do I scream out at the next rally? Terrorist or Socialist?

Actually, I think next week they are going to claim Obama's either:

    A) a cyborg from the 22nd Century sent back in time to steal the election and change the future

    or

    B) the demon Pazuzu of the Southwest Wind.

Go with "B". That sounds scarier.

But gosh darn it, that Sarah Palin appeals to me. She's an outsider!! And I like her because she's VERY informed when it comes to... um...well, ummmmmm...I like her because she's an outsider!

  12. DA: He still pals around with terrorists. I know this because John and Sarah sent me a letter yesterday telling me all about it. :P

  13. Politics Yuk! I'm not sure why so many people are high on Obama. He and McCain are more alike then most people would like to believe. First and foremost their both lairs.

On one side you have a very articulate man who can lie very well, on the other side you have a guy who can never make his lies seem believable. The problem is they both lie...

The sad part is politicians are nothing more then a reflection of the people they are supposed to represent - fickle, egocentric and lost. This is not a reflection of you, I'm just talking about everyone else (include myself).

  14. ARGGG. i hate it when people say the cure used a drum machine on seventeen seconds. it's not a drum machine! mike hedges just miked the drums in an unconventional way (with contact mics) to give them the super dry sound commonly associated with drum machines.

  15. OK thanks V! Just making sure he still pals around with terrorists. I was hoping this new Socialism kick that Obama is on wasn't taking time away from his Anti-American, Communist and sleeper cell terrorist activities. Busy busy man!!

If Mrs. Palin can convince me that Obama is also supporting Fascism, Monarchy AND Anarchy, then I'll vote against him :)
