How did you get into The Cure?

"The media and culture website Hagley Road to Ladywood is currently working on a project (online, possibly more, it depends on a few factors) to coincide with the release of the new Cure album. It's a call to all Cure fans, old and new, no matter what sex, age, religion or country, to get in touch with us.
We would like to know how you first got into The Cure. Were you at school? Was it through a relationship? Did you her them on the radio? Or were you flicking through a magazine and liked the look of Robert Smith (or Simon Gallup)?...How did you get into them?
Also, how has your attitude towards The Cure changed through the years???
We are collecting as many stories as we can. Please get in touch by email at"

The Cure add second, smaller date to L.A. stand
April 14th, 2008 · posted by Ben Wener

‘Bout time: After years (or is it decades?) of making only big-bigger-biggest outdoor appearances — Verizon/Irvine Meadows, Curiosa at Home Depot Center, Coachella – Robert Smith and the Cure are finally going to play a smaller space in Southern California again.

June 1 at the Shrine Auditorium — the night after they play a sold-out gig at (where else?) the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m.

Happy Birthday Robert!
A strange night VIII - The Cure Fan Party
Robert Smith, singer in the eccentric British band The Cure, will on 21.4.2008 turn 49 years of age. This is a reason for us to celebrate as we´ve done in the past years! The place of the party is this time the legendary Duncker Club, a wicked location in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg very close to the S-bahn stations Prenzlauer Allee and the S and U-bahn Schönhauser Alle. Have a look at the map.
Wilco & DJ Örlög are once more responsible for the music, and apart from the unavoidable hits they will also reach deep into their music box and play B-sides, rarities, remixes, cover versions and songs of the side projects.
Furthermore, the first 150 birthday-guests will as a small gift receive the fabulous button made specially for this party.

Be there...
