The Cure on People's History of Pop

"We’re making a series for BBC Four called the People’s History of Pop It aims to chart the progression of British popular music from the fans’ perspective, using their stories and memorabilia.

We’re currently crowdsourcing for Episode 4, which will feature The Cure. We want fans to send in their memories and artefacts relating to more general gothic culture in this decade, as well as their experiences of The Cure’s music, their gigs and albums."

Bestival Toronto preview article

Nice Bestival Toronto preview article at Step On Magaine. An excerpt:

"For The Cure don’t do it halfway, they never have, they never will. Whether releasing new music or not. Casual fans, forgetful fans, greedy fans, dig deep into that back catalog, way back and find those treasures you might have missed. Faith. Pornography. The Head on the Door (not just the singles, but the whole damn thing, I urge you). Because you might be tested, challenged, surprised with how deep the vault is and why it is more perfect than these times of ours deserve. On a June night in Toronto at Woodbine Park in the lush and green east end, The Cure will defy genre and labels and play, quite simply “Cure Music”.

NYC Cure Afterparty on June 19th

From Angel:

Hey everyone! It's me again. Here's the info on my Sunday afterparty in NYC. In case you didn't see my comment on the Saturday listing, I'm a longtime reader and poster (mostly show reviews) here at COF, and the fellow COFers I've met at shows all over the world throughout the years were very much the inspiration behind these parties. If you're traveling to NYC for these shows, I hope you'll come out and find a "home away from home" while you're in town, and if you're local, I hope you'll feel revitalized by the amazing energy these traveling fans bring along with them wherever they go!

That Saturday afterparty looks awesome, but you've got tickets for the show on Sunday, you say? Come on now. You didn't think we'd leave you out in the cold, did you? We know that when the Cure's in town, there are no "school nights."

NYC Cure Afterparty on June 18th

"It's been five long years since the Reflections shows, and even longer since the Cure played a standard set at a New York City arena.

When their show is over, do you REALLY think you're gonna be ready to call it a night? Don't worry. We've got you covered.

Didn't get tickets for the Saturday show? You're far from alone. Fear not--we've got the Cure for that, too.
